Cottage Details

Staddles is a timber-framed cottage of the late 15th century (it originally formed part of the adjacent property to the right, now no. 86.) The house was divided in the late 17th century. The fine and rare pargeting on the front of the cottage dates from this time.

The cottage now comprises a beamed sitting room with Inglenook fireplace and original Suffolk brick floor. There is underfloor heating and a gas ‘coal burning’ effect stove (with remote control.) French doors lead through to a thoroughly modern fitted kitchen/diner with dishwasher, washer/dryer, built-in electric oven with gas hob, microwave and refrigerator with freezer compartment. There is also an extending oak table and chairs for dining.

Further French doors lead to a secluded garden with an apple tree and flower borders and ample space for outdoor dining and summer barbecues.

The bedroom is reached from the sitting room via a newel staircase. This was inserted in the 17 th century conversion and is fairly steep and therefore not suitable for people with mobility problems.

The bedroom features a Super King size bed, wardrobe, cupboard and chest of drawers (the bed will divide into two 3ft single beds if required.) The en-suite shower room leads from the bedroom, comprising a good size shower, wash basin and toilet.

Please also note, we have now added Wifi-plus and the BT Sport Channel.
